About The Workshop
What has heat retention and volume got to do with your enjoyment of coffee?
Come learn to make your own pottery mug as Elizabeth shares some basic ideas about the considerations behind the functionality of a coffee mug and ceramics processes. This workshop is suitable for all ages.
Participants will be learn about:
1. Differences between industrial and handcrafted fabrication processes;
2. The alchemy of clay, glaze and firing
3. Profiles of coffee mugs for various coffee choice
Charges are all-inclusive of materials, use of tools, firing and glazing.
Collection will be made available after 1 month at The Art Space – Suntec as pottery pieces require time for drying, bisque and glost firing. Participants will be contacted when their pots are ready for collection.

Elizabeth GAN is a ceramicist and art educator. She has recently returned from a residency under the mentorship of Mr. Setsuro SHIBATA and is in the process of setting up her own studio. Also doubling up as an education space, her studio will offer classes focusing on the interface between art and craftwork. She currently teaches at Ceramic House.
